A $3500 tax credit... You betcha!

Well, why not, for heavens sake. It certainly makes as much sense as many of the other tax breaks going around these days.

You can help your injured pet...

This article is invaluable if you have a loved cat or dog who is injured, but still healthy. Please read just to get it into your personal knowledge bank.

in reference to:

"An injured animal often loses its ability to urinate. This is a critical, sometimes fatal problem unless the caretaker knows how to manually cause the animal to urinate, called 'expressing' the animal."

Child-ification of dogs

It's hard not to treat your pets as you would your children. There's that nurturing sense in us all. Or is it simply wanting to give back to one (the pet) who loves so unconditionally?

Killed simply because they are deaf ...

Wow, who knew? Our old fella, Isaac, was 16 when we got him. We rescued him from the side of the road. Within a day, we found out he was deaf. He had two great years with us before passing. He learned ( and we did too), hand signals. What a gem of a dog. Made us wonder what a young Schnauzer would be like. Great site and great cause to support.

If in Tempe, AZ - Dog Walk...

My sister lives in Scottsdale. She loves dogs, but doesn’t have one due to her allergies. She’s going to get her “dog” fix over a Thanksgiving visit with us. She hasn’t met “Bentley” yet, but she’s been primed. I’ll send her a link to this event/post. She may need a tune-up before she visits.

Dogs in the NYTimes...

Good Dog, Smart Dog - There's more to the canine brain than a good nose and an instinct to please.
They are amazing animals. My life has been greatly enriched. My friend, Delane, has a service dog, Gary. A big soft black lab. The two are a site to see.

Great Tour at Wolf Haven

My nephew and his wife came to spend the weekend with us in Tenino, WA and we took in a tour at Wolf Haven International. Very enlightening about the alpha pair of wolves that are part of a pack. This is a great non-profit to support.
